An oil storage tank installed at a refinery is a right cylinder with diameter 18m and height 10m.

1.) The tank rests on the ground. Find the surface area of the tank that can be painted.
2.) The tank is half full of oil. Find the volume of the oil in the tank.

Please explain how you got your answer. Thanks so much! :)

1) If its on the ground, then we cant paint the base. So, the body will be painted, and the lid (If it has one)
Body Area would be perimeter of cross section *Height=2*Pi*9(Radius)*10= u do the math :)
If it has a lid, then add to that the surface area of the circular lid (Pi*r^2)
2)Volume=Area of cross section*Height=Pi*9^2 * 5 (Half the height)=.... u do it :)
Hope I helped!
