you can always get rid of them by multiplying both sides by a power of 10 so they disappear.Good luck!......
3.0x10^11 = (2x)^2 / (0.0014-x)(4.4x10^-4 -3x)^3

the answer is 2.8x10^-4, I think so anyway, I find knowing the answer helps because then you know if you're getting it right.

Well, the number of the left is just a constant that is written in scientific notation. I would take the approach of expanding the other quantities with exponents attached to them. Then, multiply both sides by the denominator of the fraction. Simplify both sides and solve for x. If decimals give you fits, you can always get rid of them by multiplying both sides by a power of 10 so they disappear.

Good luck!
