Ok, last question im asking for help on? 10th grade

the other problems ive had an idea of how to solve them but not this one, im finding x for:

3x+2 / 5x + 2x-1 / 2x = 4

so does do you have to find the common denominator first like the other ones? which in this case would be 10, right? Then what?

3x+2 / 5x + 2x-1 / 2x = 4
multiply by 10 x , both sides , to get
=> 10X (3x+2 )/ 5x + 10X( 2x-1 ) / 2x = 4
=> [ 2 ( 3X+2 ) + 5 ( 2X-1) ] = 40 X
=> 6 X + 4 + 10 X - 5 = 40 X
=> 6 X + 10X - 45X -1= 0
=> - 29 X = 1
=> X = -1 / 29

Easiest way to solve is to multiply both sides by 10x

(3x+2) / (5x) + (2x-1) / (2x) = 4
10x (3x+2) / (5x) + 10x (2x-1) / (2x) = 10x * 4
2 (3x+2) + 5 (2x-1) = 40x
6x + 4 + 10x - 5 = 40x
16x - 1 = 40x
16x - 40x = 1
-24x = 1
x = -1/24

4 = ( 6 x + 2 + 10 x -5 ) / 10 x should be 4 = ( 6 x + 4 + 10 x -5 ) / 10 x
which will give solution -1/24

ok im in yr 9 which i think is equvilant to 8th grade but um im good at maths n i think your answers should be..... um if all of those where together then your answer should be ....x=4 because u just add up all the x's which is 12x then you do your normal numbers n that leave you with +1 so then your algebraic expression would look like 12x+1=4 then you minus the 1 on each side and it should look like 12x=3 then you divide everything by 3 n your answer is x=4!

40 x - 16 x = -3
24 x = -3
x = -1/8

you are on the right track. now multiply through by 10 and you are almost there.

LCD of 5x and 2x is 10x.
