This is the question:

Calculations have shown when using an orifice plate a head difference of water will be 0.82m, what will be the height difference of mercury (in metres) used to measure the flow rate of this device?

the answer is either 0.006, 0.06, 0.6, or 0.0006

dont know how to get the answer.... any help would be grateful! thanks

The specific gravity of mercury is 13.6

Divide the water head by this number for the answer, which is 0.06323.

The nearest answer is 0.06.

Note specific gravity varies as the temperature changes. This may account for the small difference.
