I have an op-amp (operational amplifier) which either give an output of 12 volt or 0 volt, and a 3 volt battery in a separate circuit. I want the 3 volt battery to light a light bulb, when the op-amp has no output. Meaning, when the op-amp goes high, the 3 volt is not delivered to the light bulb.
Is it correct to connect the 3 volt battery to an AND port and the output of the op-amp to a NOT port and the NOT port to the AND port?
Do you think I should use an SR Flip Flop instead of the AND port?
Personally, I don't think its necessary, because the op-amp resets itself.

Use a 4.7K resistor from the op amp output to the base of a small power transistor to switch the 3V circuit.
