I need help on balancing equations. Can someone please HELP and EXPLAIN what I have to do to find the answer? Person who is very imformative will receive 5+ stars.. Thanks ♥
On #1 vv I know how to set it up with the numbers ect it's just the balancing part that I don't get.. Can someone please HELP and EXPLAIN how I find it with the answer? so I can get the hint to finish the others?
1.) Zn + HCI ------------------------------------> ZnCl2 + H2
Zn = 1 Zn = 1
H = 1 H = 2
Cl = 1 Cl = 2
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~…
and on #2 is it a balanced equation already?
2.) SO3 + H2O --------------------------> H2SO4
S = 1 S = 1
O = 4 H = 4
H = 2 O = 2
On #2 I didn't change anything I just put the number of atoms they all had... and it came out equal.. so is it already a balanced equation? YES OR NO
OK all this is correct.
1.) Zn + HCI ------------------------------------> ZnCl2 + H2
Zn = 1 Zn = 1
H = 1 H = 2
Cl = 1 Cl = 2
So you have 1 H on the left and 2 H's on the right. In order to get 2 H's on the right, just multiply HCl by 2. In other words put a 2 in front of the HCl to make it look like (2 HCl)
Now once you did that, you also automatically doubled the Cl's to 2, and that is a good think because you already have 2 Cl's on the right side.
So you end up with Zn + 2 HCl --------------> ZnCl2 + H2 Your equation is balanced.
You are right about the second one. It is already balanced.
1) Zn + 2HCl --> ZnCl2 + H2
2) Yes, it is already balanced.
2) Yes, it is already balanced.
