I'm currently thinking of joining the military after high school. My first choice is the Air Force but due to the fact that I'm not a US citizen I can't do any jobs that require security clearance. So I went over the jobs that I could do and engineering is the top one.
So if you guys do engineering or know someone who does can you please tell me if its worth it ?
Also like what do you do and stuff ?

Engineers typically require a Bachelor's degree, so it would probably be an Officer position.
As an engineer, you usually design things depending on your field. For example, if you are an aerospace engineer, you might be designing aircraft, missiles, spacecraft, etc.
Expect lots of math. Several years of Calculus, possibly some programming, stuff like that. Engineers are usually given the task of designing something that can be useful and not break the bank for the company. This also means that you will have to learn about some materials. Lots of applied physics, which is why it is so heavy in math. The pay is pretty awesome, but differs from field to field. Also, a lot of the other courses you would take will depend on the field.
However, I believe you would DEFINITELY need a security clearance for engineering. You would be designing things for the government, and they don't want that information getting out. Even civilian engineers for the Department of Defense usually can't talk about the things they design at work.
