Sir i read in class xi. I and not interested in chemistry. But i've a great interest in physics and math. Will it affect in my future to be a mechanical engineer? Pls tell me briefly.

'm not an engineer. But i study engineering. You have to study chemistry to get admission. And also in the 1st year you have a chemistry paper to study. In the rest years you dont have to worry. I recommend you learn chemistry to make yourself a good engineer. Because an intelligent engineer must have minimum basic knowledge in all root subjects in science field.

In any engineering major you will be required to take at least college level chemistry unless you get AP credit in high school. After you're done with that one class, you really don't have to take any more chemistry unless you want to. I go to Georgia Tech for mechanical engineering. Math and Physics will be your most important starting points for engineering, after those you'll take real engineering classes like Statics, Mechanics, Fluid Dynamics, Heat Transfer, Thermodynamics, Numerical Methods, Machine Design, etc.

I am a Mechanical Engineer. When I studied, I had to take Physics, Chemistry and Maths. Why Chemistry? Well if you want to know how an alkaline, lead acid, lithium battery works you should have knowledge of Chemistry. Idea is, that one should build a solid science 'background' to be a good engineer.
