If this is a stupid question, sorry but I don't want to blow up my plug in. (It's a charger that goes into the car and then you plug in your cord to it.)

I think curling irons require a higher Wattage. The Wattage or Volt-Amps rating is probably stamped or labeled on the curling iron. If the rating exceeds 100W or 100VA then it will damage your converter when you connect the curling iron.

It depends on how much your model uses. Some use at little as 40 watts.
Look at the label on the iron and it will say how many watts it uses.
If you overload the charger it should automatically shut off (safety feature), but it won't be damaged.
Be careful curling and driving!
