Is it just me or does anyone else get scared by looking at google earth? I mean go on to google earth and go to Antarctica and zoom in right into the black bits. Also the ocean freaks me out as well when you can just go anywhere and all the waves are shown D:

Google Earth is really just for entertainment, unless you shell out money for extra features.
I personally wouldn't worry about it. All they've done is take thousands and thousands of satellite shots and overlaid them as best they can. This means that there's going to be error involved, and the accuracy of the shots is going to change from one to another.
Places like "black bits" just haven't been caught by a satellite (probably because polar orbits are uncommon for commercial satellites).
But I guess if it "freak[s] you out"... just stop looking at it! :-) You can go all over the world on the Internet and actually learn things about planet Earth rather than only seeing some strange pictures. I would recommend that, it's much more interesting!

You don't get out much do you?
I don't think it is scary at all. Quite to the contrary... you can, quite literally, explore the entire world from your computer. You can see groups of seals basking on the beach at the southern tip of the Chatham islands in MA. You can see the snow cats used at McMurdo Station in the Antarctic. You can see crowded beaches in Hawaii. You can look at volcanos in Iceland. You can virtually drive across the Golden Gate Bridge. You can stand at the base of the Effel Tower.

Some people find it scary to look at, I guess. But you're part of an extremely small minority. This isn't much of a major problem, "Google Earth" isn't one of life's essentials, that's why it has to be installed separately, and isn't already built into your computer.

I find it facinating.
