Even numbered periods and new blocks of elements?
So I noticed that in the periodic table so far, every even numbered period introduces a new block/group of elements. Period 2 introduces the P block, period 4 introduces the D block and period 6 introduces the F block. I m sure chemists probably get this all the time but is there a reason for this or is it...
