How do you measure a unit of gas?
-------------------------------------------------------
answers:
Peter Boiter Woods say: One common way is to fill a container, measure the pressure, volume, and temperature and use PV=nRT to determine the number of moles.

Dr W say: depends on what property you're trying to measure... are you measuring
.. temperature?
.. pressure?
.. mass?
.. volume?
.. color?
.. odor?
.. flammability?
.. solubility
etc?

I read your comment.. what exactly are you trying to do?

billrussell42 say: 1 unit of gas is equal to one kilowatt hour (kWh) of gas used. It's important to understand that your gas meter does not directly show how many units you are using, but instead measures the amount of gas used by volume in Cubic Meters (m³) or Cubic Feet (ft³), depending on the type of meter that you have.
there are online converters to convert "units" to volume.

Trevor H say: Gas is measured in units of volume - but the temperature and pressure must be specified.
