Chemical equilibrium help?
Lab: Chemical Equilibrium
a. List the products of the reaction if equimolar amounts of aqueous solutions of Fe(NO3)3 and NaNCS, are mixed.
I was thinking Fe(NO3)3 (aq) + NaNCS (aq) => FeNCS (aq) + 3NaNO3 (aq) but I don't know if it's right.
b. Write the mass action expression for the reaction of aqueous solutions of Fe(NO3)3 and NaNCS in equimolar quantities.

Nitrate ion (NO3-) and sodium ion (Na+) are just spectators that don't react. The NET ionic equation is
Fe3+(aq) + SCN-(aq) ==> FeSCN2+(aq) which is a blood red color.
If you want to include all the spectator ions, then the entire equation is
Fe(NO3)3(aq) + NaSCN(aq) ==> FeSCN(NO3)2(aq) + NaNO3(aq)
Fe3+(aq) + SCN-(aq) ==> FeSCN2+(aq) which is a blood red color.

Fe has +3 charge so it wouldnt be FeNCS
