One great example of an exothermic reaction is mixing Potassium Permanganate with Glycerol (or Glycerine), this produces a very hot flame of over 1500oc within around 20 seconds from which they are mixed together.
Another popular exothermic reaction that is used in everyday life is the hot ice reaction, where a solution of sodium acetate is heated and it is all completely dissolved and the solution is saturated. This must then be left in a fridge to cool down but I would recommend covering it with something like clingfilm or aluminium foil to protect the solution from any pollutants that might start the reaction. When you are ready to start the reaction, you can either touch the mixture, poke it with something or drop a couple of sodium acetate crystals into the mixture. This reaction is seen in heat packs where you snap the piece of metal in the middle and the liquid turns into a solid which almost looks like a sort of hot ice.
I do not know many good endothermic reactions but I do know that when either potassium chloride or ammonium nitrate is mixed with water it is an endothermic reaction, I believe ammonium nitrate is one of the main ingredients in some cold packs too so this would be a great example. Also dissolving ammonium chloride in water is a great example of an endothermic reaction too.
I hope this has helped and I hope you do well in your project!
You could also check out some youtube channels such as 'NurdRage' and 'periodicvideos' in future because they have some great examples and experiments on their channels, they also explain them in depth so that you can find it easier to umderstand.
