Write an equation to show how water is a product when nylon is formed.

These are condensation polymers that split out water to form.Nylon-6,6 would be an example of the first one if it were made from a 6-carbon di-acid and a 6-carbon di-amine.Nylon-6 would be an example of the second typr.Yeah, this is kind of hard chem.......
Please help! I am completely lost in chemistry. :/

two ways: di-amine and di-carboxylic acid

H2N(chain)NH2 + HOOC(chain)COOH --> H2O + -HN(chain)NH-C(=O)(chain)C(=O)-

This is the repeat unit of the chain and it is an amide link so nylon is a polyamide

also

H2N(chain)COOH --> H2O + -NH(chain)C(=O)-

These are condensation polymers that "split out" water to form. Nylon-6,6 would be an example of the first one if it were made from a 6-carbon di-acid and a 6-carbon di-amine. Nylon-6 would be an example of the second typr.

Yeah, this is kind of hard chem.
