How to find limiting reactant

In this case it will be methane.Amount of Cl2 left over 2.58-1.5586 = 1.......
I'm really confused on this problem.

A 25.0g sample of methane gas is placed in a reaction vessel containing 2.58 mol of Cl2 (g). Identify the limiting reactant when the methane and chlorine gases are combined. Justify your answer with a calculation.

I would have liked to know the product of the reaction, but i will assume it forms dimethyl chloride.

2.58 moles of Cl2
25 grams of methane gas = (25g/16.04g/mol) =1.5586 moles

In my reaction where 1CH4 + 1Cl2 -> CH2Cl2 + H2 1 mole of chlorine gas is used for every 1 mole of methane gas. This means that whatever gas has the least number of initial moles will be the limiting reagent. In this case it will be methane. Amount of Cl2 left over 2.58-1.5586 = 1.02
