like a list of things i should know/review to get a proficient+

You should know the periodic table to a degree - groups, periods, etc. Reactivity of alkali metals, noble gases etc.
You need to know trends of atomic radii, electronegativity, and ionization energy. For example, you should know electronegativity increases from left to right and bottom to top. Fluorine is the most electronegative element. Noble gases, which have 8 valence electrons, have very little electronegativity because they fulfill the octet rule.
Know that metals w/ incomplete d orbitals will be colored.
Know how to find moles of a substance given grams.
Know how to do noble gas configuration / electron configuration. 1s2 2s2 sp6 3s2 2d10 etc.
Pretty much just all the basics. I already took it and it was extremely easy.
