What does it mean when both sequences in a multiple sequence alignment have an exact match

!(=-I guess youve found two genes/proteins with identical sequences. The significance of this isnt very remarkable; but if all the sequences in your alignment (i.e. many sequences from many homologous species) were very close to each other, you can be fairly certain of saying that its a highly conserved gene and therefore probably has an important function.......
I used the program ClustalW2 and I'm a high school freshman and have not took a biology course yet and I'm doing this for an experiment where I compare albinism in various homologous species.
Please help and be thorough!
Thanks so much!!(=
