2. Capillaries and alveoli are lined with tiny flat cells. In capillaries these are called endothelial cells; in alveoli they are type I pneumocytes.-1. The heart is made up of heart (cardiac) muscle. It is just like a house is made up of bricks.......
1. Is your heart and heart muscle the same thing? And if not can you explain the different functions of them.

2. How can capillaries and alveolar have membranes and they both not a cell and don't live in a cell?

1. A heart and heart muscle usually refer to the organ as a whole. Heart muscle may also refer to cardiac muscle, which is the class of muscle used in the heart.

1. The heart is made up of heart (cardiac) muscle. It is just like a house is made up of bricks.
2. They have membranes because they are made up of cells and are covered by epithelial (covering) cells.

Remember this what every thing in our body is made of, and the order:

Body is made of organs (heart), organs are made of tissues (muscle), Tissues are made up of cells and their membranes (muscle cell, capillary cells, epithelial cells). Hope that helps :)

Agree with everything already said. Remember, membrane is a generic word. There are cell membranes and tissue membranes that are thin layers that cover or separate other tissues or organs.
