who do humans look like apes. I mean I don't care what your personal belief is -- what is the REAL reasons? No matter what u beleive though cannot deny we look exactly like them -- nose, facial features, fingers/toes. there isn't no other animals, I can think of that look like humans....why is this? ty

The other two posters gave excellent responses. I'm going to add on a bit.

We are very closely related to primates. We share 98% of the same DNA, which contributes to humans and primates having similar structures to us (fingers and apposable thumbs, similar facial features, etc, upright position, etc) because of genes that determine traits and structures such as formation of limbs.
Although the other 2% makes us look different, we are still genetically very similar.

Also, I anticipate some people will say that humans "evolved from" apes. However, this is technically inaccurate. To say we evolve from apes implies that apes are extinct, which they are not. Apes and humans have a fairly recent common ancestor on the evolutionary tree of life, which the posters above me explained.

-
They are our closest living relatives in the tree of life. In the same way as you resemble your parents, and to a less extent your cousins, and to an even less extent, but still overwhelming so, all the rest of the humans on the planet.

-
To put it simply, humans and apes came from a common ancestor. That ancestor then evolved-- some became humans, some became apes, and some became monkeys.
Just like lizards and snakes came from the same animal at one point.
