Genes are actual sequences of DNA that code for proteins. DNA is the material used to make genes. Maybe a better way of phrasing it would be that DNA are the words that make up sentences, and sentences are genes. Chromosomes are DNA that have been condensed into a complex structure for the purpose of cell division. So basically, if DNA are the words, genes are the sentences, then chromosomes would be books that packages the words and sentences.

There is a difference, basically a gene resides on a chromosome and multiple chromosomes make up a strand of DNA.
Here are some more definition of the terms.
Gene:The fundamental physical and functional unit of heredity. A gene is an ordered sequence of nucleotides located in a particular position on a particular chromosome that encodes a specific functional product (ie, a protein or RNA molecule).
Chromosome:Components in a cell that contain genetic information. Each chromosome contains numerous genes. Chromosomes occur in pairs: one obtained from the mother; the other from the father. Chromosomes of different pairs are often visibly different from each other
DNA:The material inside the nucleus of cells that carries genetic information. The scientific name for DNA is deoxyribonucleic acid.

A gene is a segment of DNA that may or may not code for a protein. A chromosome is a bunch of condensed DNA tied up with a histone. DNA is a long strand of nucleotides attached to phosphates and deoxyribose sugars and held together by hydrogen bonds.
