If evolution is real then why do we still have monkeys

BQ: How long do you think it will take for chimps to evolve into humans?

The first question isn't eve a complete thought. Care to take another stab at it, Einstein?

And the second question just heaps on the evidence that you are horribly ignorant when it comes to evolution.

Almost everyone here thinks this kid is so dumb that he thinks an individual chimp will become a human some day. He was just asking how long it will take (1 million years...50 million years...etc.) for the lineage of what we call chimps today to be able to talk and think and reason etc. like humans.

Evolution isn't pokemon bro. Monkeys didn't just go, "I reached level 25, I think I'm gonna be a human now"...

Evolution is "any change across successive generations in the heritable characteristics of biological populations." In other words, if you have a population of monkeys, some are going to live long enough be able to reproduce before they die. Others that don't live long enough to reproduce will die, and they will not be able to pass on their genetic traits. Generally, the INDIVIDUAL has some sort of characteristic that allowed him/her to survive long enough to produce an offspring.

And chimps aren't going to be evolving into humans. Like I said before, they're not pokemon.

Today's chimps aren't evolving into humans. We both share a common ancestor back in time. All of the primates come from a common species no longer present on earth in the ancient version. Every species present on the earth today is evolved and by definition successful. Unsuccessful = extinct Monkeys and humans are not more or less evolved than one another, they are just differently evolved.
