The Earth has been pummeled by more objects than the Moon has, but erosion from wind and water, in combination with geological activity has washed most of the scars away. Plus, the vast majority of the Earth's surface area being covered in water (or at some points in time, glaciers) also masks some of these impacts.

The reason for most of the impacts comes from the earlier days of our solar system, when there were a LOT more asteroids in all sections of the solar system. These objects have fallen into objects like the Earth, Moon, Mars, etc. because of specific variables that allowed them to pass close enough to these objects to either hit them by their own trajectory, or have their trajectory altered enough by the planet/moon's gravity to strike the surface.
