Imagine that two animals with diets similar to that of a human are born with problems with their digestive systems.
(a) One animal has no stomach. What problem will it have in have in digesting food?
(b) One animal has no small intestine. What problem will it have in digesting food?
Please help(: Don't give me any answers like do your own homework, beacuse I do(:

First of all if the animal does indeed have a digestive system like a human it will die without these things
A - It emits enzymes that partially digest food (called chyme) and sends it to small intestine. Without it undigested food is getting shoved into the small intestine which makes it much harder for nutrient absorption to happen and probably would cause all sorts of other homeostasis problems
B - Though every part of the digestive system (gall bladder being the exception) is essential for survival I'd say the small intestine is the most important. This is where virtually all of the nutrients from the food are absorbed and so without you can eat all you want but your body won't absorb nutrients from it.
This might be the most retarded hw assignment ever - your teacher might as well should have asked you what would happen to your blood flow if you lost your heart
If you are missing any organ (gall bladder and one kidney excluded) you are dead and that is the answer I think you should put to both of these:)
