Is gluconeogenesis anabolic

It seems obvious that it is since its a 'building' process but it has an overall net negative deltaG. Maybe I'm misunderstanding the concept of deltaGs for a reaction. I guess every enzymatic needs a net negative G in a cell, otherwise the reaction would quickly revert back to its reactants.

delta G(Gibbs free energy) just means if it is < 0 that reaction will occur spontaneously. Comparing if it is anabolic vs catabolic with -deltaG or +delta G is like comparing apples and oranges. Alot of times unfavorable energy rxns are coupled with rxns that have a very large -deltaG. Hope this helps!
