Is there life on other planets or galaxies? Or possibly aliens or other beings living there? Do you think we are alone in such big universe?

Cmon, move on. This is astronomy, not nuts R us. Cheers!-mars say: Maybe,......
Quadrillian say: Are people still into this crap? Cmon, move on. This is astronomy, not nuts R us.

Cheers!

mars say: Maybe, Yes, No.

quantumclaustrophobe say: Right now, we don't know if there's life beyond Earth - intelligent or otherwise... until we have evidence either way - we just need to keep an open mind.
Do I *think* there's life out there? Yes, I would bet there is - but... that could turn out to be wrong. Again - until we have more info, I'm just keeping an open mind.

Adolf Hitler say: Yes, trust me I watched Star Trek
-
DeAnne say: We are hardly alone. There are over 6 billion of us. This is the only inhabited planet. Bible says 'the Heavens declare the handiwork of God...planet EARTH He has made for man.'
-
say: darpa has perfected the warp engine . we will find out soon .
-
L. E. Gant say: The thing is, WE DON'T KNOW.

There is no reason to assume that life doesn't exist on exoplanets, especially those that are earth-like, and there are millions of those in our galaxy alone. But we've seen no signs of any kind of life. The organic gases in comets and so on suggest that life should be plentiful, but it can be generated in many different chemical reactions, so it's not proof of life.

And the worst part is that our technology is suggesting that travel to the stars where we might find life will be too expensive to ever happen...

Norman say: The Universe is teeming with life but time and distance will ensure that you will never meet any.
-
ᔕTEᐯᗩᑎ say: yeh there will be mega life throughout the universe
-
CarolOklaNola say: No one knows on the first two questions. No, we probably are NOT alone..
-
Davros say: Nobody knows.

We know that life is possible in the cosmos because we are an example of it. Practically speaking our star and our planet are not uncommon in type and the road to life needs a chemistry set found pretty much everywhere in common abundance. That may not count for anything much because the precise parameters of what conditions are needed to form life from that chemistry is one of the unknowns.

Putting together any numbers is pure guesswork and saying there are next to no examples of life in the cosmos is as valid as saying there are trillions. All we can say is that whatever is out there isn't very chatty. Given the overwhelming likelihood is that this life will be microbial in nature, having a conversation with it is not on the cards.

Best Answer say: The universe is infinite, which means that all forms of life are infinite in number.
