I noticed that moon rises from the west in the sky. It used to rise from the east. Is this some sort of sorcery or am I stupid?

The moon isn´t the sun (a fix star which doesn´t move).
The earth rotates around it´s own axis while orbiting the sun, and that´s why the sun rises east every morning (you should know this).
The moon orbits the earth more slowly than the earth rotates about it´s own axis, so this causes a delay---which explains why the moon doesn´t rise at the same point every day.
