Yesterday when I was coming home,it was around 5 or 6(p.m) and the moon was out. Why?
-
The only time when the Moon isn't in the daytime sky is at full moon when it's opposite the Sun. At any other time in the month, it will be above the horizon for all or part of daylight hours.
-
At certain times of the year it will be visible in the sky. This is because the Moon is brighter than most stars in the sky due to the fact it reflects light from the Sun, and does not create its own light as popular theory would suggest. Think about it, you can't see the stars but they are there. The Moon could be brighter one day and thus more visible than the stars.
-
Stars look bright in the night sky, but they don't have the capacity to be seen in the daytime.
The moon, however, produces enough luminosity that causes it to be seen in the daytime.

Unlike stars the Moon is brighter than the daytime sky, so you can see it in the day.

It happens everyday.
