Is it possible that humans live on another planet

[From: ] [author: ] [Date: 12-04-09] [Hit: ]
the number 2401 = it is odd, it is divisible by 7, the sum of its digits is 7, etc.) but they are not THE number 7.A human is an entity that results from billions of years of evolution on THIS planet,......
I know this sounds absolutely RIDICULOUS. but looking at the sheer size of the universe and the many many planets could there perhaps be a planet that is exactly the same as Earth with the same conditions that we had to evolve in thus meaning that there are other humans out there. Im sure I sound like a complete nut but i wondered.

Be careful with statistical analyses based on infinity. They are not considered "proofs".

The line of integers (whole numbers) is infinite.
The number 7 is a very normal number. And yet, even though the number of numbers is infinite, there is no other number 7 in the whole infinity of whole numbers.

Sure, there are numbers that use the digit "7" when they are written in base-10, but none of them are "the number 7".

There are numbers that share properties with the number 7 (for example, the number 2401 = it is odd, it is divisible by 7, the sum of its digits is 7, etc.) but they are not "THE" number 7.

A human is an entity that results from billions of years of evolution on THIS planet, with the conditions that have existed on THIS planet over the extremely long period of time.

Even if you were to find a planet identical to Earth, somewhere else, it would be asking a lot for ALL the conditions to have been exactly the same over billions of years. Even on Earth, we do not really know why, in general, biomolecules have acquired a twist to the left (levorotation) instead of the right (dextrorotation) as it could just as easily gone the other way.

And this happened with the first proteins (billions of years ago) and has, therefore, affecting almost all the animal kingdom (not so much for plants).

ONE tiny change way back then, and the whole world (literally) would be different.

Therefore, if you ask: can there be HUMANS on other planets? the answer is no.

Can there be intelligent beings on other planets? Sure. However, the place does not seem to be overly crowded with them (Fermi's paradox).

Bonzo: if they live under water, then obviously they are not human.
This question asks about humans.

That depends on whether you regard the universe as infinite or not. Most scientists would say that it probably isn't - rather, that it is finite rather than unbounded (in a 3D analog of the surface of a sphere, for example, which has a defiinite area, but no edges).

If for the sake of argument we say that the universe is quite literally infinite, then, if we take any robability, however small, and multiply it by the infinity of space, we get something positive. To put that in lay language, if the universe is finite, anything possible must happen. So somewhere, there must be another earth exactly like ours, with another you, except maybe you are asking my question instead of the other way round. And another one in which you don't care one way or the other. And so on.
