So its december and every december there is a star that comes out. its always the first one to come out and its the biggest and brightest? Is it a planet? If so, which one?
-
well If you are looking in the east that would be Jupiter. The main differences between a planet and a star in the sky is that planets don't twinkle.
-
This year the planet Jupiter rises before the Sun sets, but that doesn't happen every December. The brightest star, other than the Sun, is Sirius. When Sirius rises depends on your latitude and longitude. Sirius is a winter star. Several bright stars rise before Sirius does, including Betelgeuse and Rigel, so the brightest star dos NOT rise first,

The bright one high in the night sky? If so it is Jupiter, a planet.
-
Juipter and Venus are both very visible right Now. both Planets.
-
I think you mean venus which is a planet.
