I think current technology cannot detect earth
like planets. Even kepler space observatory is
launched, it is just one of many steps towards
finding a new home. There are some projects
like terrestrial planet finder aimed at detecting
earth like planets. Many projects suffers from lack of fundings and getting withdrawn. I
have seen in a documentary "Space with Sam
neil : are we alone?" that we will be launching
a some telescope that uses laser by 2025, the
main advantage is it won't uses radial velocity
method or transit method (used by kepler) but rather it would nullify star's brightness and
directly look at the planet, even the
atmosphere composition. It everything goes
well , the chances of finding future home is
easy. And other think i would like to say if
intelligent extraterrestria life exists similar to us, they surely might be in search just like us.
So there will be much demand for earth like
planets. One of the prominent scientist in this
field is Geoff Marcy.
The conditions of the planet required are
1. it should be in habitual zone
2. must be a terrestrial planet or a rocky moon of gas giant( in habitual zone, like in Avatar movie)
3. atmosphere with oxygen of required proportion
4. rich crust with all the required elements.
5. a protective ozone layer to protect from star's harmful radiation.
6. oceans and other water bodies. etc...

since no one has actually proven that earth type planets actually exist; i,d say zero at this point. there are probably millions of planets and planetary systems. that doesn,t mean they are useful to humans.

chances are fair but the distance involved will be very high and we dont have technology or money to go there.
