What type of animal is this

Ok so my cousins heard something outside and we looked through the window to see what is and it was digging through the garbage bin but it was dark outside and we could barley see it all we saw was a white tip somewhere and I though it was a dear but a dear probably wouldn't be able to knock the garbage down an even if could I probably would.please help I don't know what the creature is went in the woods when we looked out the window I live in pennslyvania if dat helps

It could have been a deer, but unfortunately we don't have enough information to go by to really help you out. Approximately how big was it? My first thought was a raccoon since they're notorious for getting into garbage at night, but when you said it could have been a deer that seemed a little strange since they're not typically nocturnal. Is there anything else you can tell us, like what type of features did it had? Would you say it was more Cervine or perhaps Ursine?
