Hmmm just head about this todAy! Who came up with it? What is supposed to happen? I'm christiN and I know only God knows but I'm just curious about theories and other people's opinion :)

It is the third end-of-the-world prediction by Harold Camping, The process by which he arrived at each of his dates is a bit complex, but it is all based on numerology.
He assigns values to words and letters, applies them to text in the Bible (I do not know which version), he adds everything up and comes up with a secret message which he then decodes as a date.
Last time, it was September 6, 1994. This time it is May 21, 2011. What will it be next time?
In the "Predict Harold's next hoax" pool, I picked September 20, 2020. However, since Harold is now 89 (turns 90 on July 19), he may decide to pick an earlier date.
If God has a twisted sense of humor (and I suspect He does), he will allow Harold to live through his 4th attempt at the guessing game.

The Bible specifically says that no one knows when the end will come. It also says there will be many false prophets.
Some points:
Matthew 24:36 However, no one knows the day or hour when these things will happen, not even the angels in heaven or the Son himself. Only the Father knows.
Mark 13:32 No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.
Acts 1:7 He said to them: "It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority.
Matthew 24:33 But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what time of night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into. So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.
2 Peter 2:1 But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them--bringing swift destruction on themselves.
