i live in northern kentucky and people at school keep that there's going to be an earthquake tomorrow! i'm really scared! and they said that it's supposed to be huge!

Hunii, no one knows when or where these kind of things are going to happen so don't worry that much... Only because some students in your school said it's going to happen it doesn't mean it will. I mean, it's just like believing in Jay Sean when he sang that the end of the world is in 2012!

I highly doubt it. We have had a few earthquakes in the past two decades, but none have been overly significant. They all stem from the New Madrid fault, and I don't think it is going to go anytime soon. I live in western KY and if it goes, it will be more dangerous for me. You would just probably feel really small aftershocks over that way. Nothing to worry about. I think your classmates are engaging in a bit of wishful thinking. Nothing will happen. Trust me.

i would find that very surprising. i am 66 years old and kentucky has not had one earthquake in all that time. kentucky does not have a history of earthquakes. if i were a betting man i would say no earthquakes in kentucky during your lifetime

Nobody knows. Only the earth's tectonic plates know. When the tectonic plates slide across each other, when the come together, and when the spread apart are all causes of earthquakes.

Most things are possible. However, predicting earthquakes is not one of them.
