What is the distance between the sun and alpha Centauri

unlike ours, actually contains three stars. Two of them are similar in size to the Sun and orbit fairly close to each other. The third, Proxima Centauri, is on an extremely wide orbit and is currently the closest star to the Earth other than the Sun.......
I know alpha Centauri is the 2nd to the nearest star from our planet.. I want to know haw far is the distance between the sun and alpha Centauri?

-
Alpha Centauri is located about 1.34 Parsecs or 4.37 Light years away from the Sun.

-
Alpha Centauri is about 4.3 light years away.

Note that the Alpha Centauri system, unlike ours, actually contains three stars. Two of them are similar in size to the Sun and orbit fairly close to each other. The third, Proxima Centauri, is on an extremely wide orbit and is currently the closest star to the Earth other than the Sun. The Alpha Centauri system as a whole is the closest star system outside our own. The real second-closest one is Barnard's Star, which is roughly 6 light years away.

The sun is just a singular star. Alpha Centauri is a system on 3 stars. The Alpha Centauri system is 4.37 light years from us. The sun is 864,377 miles wide. Alpha Centaui A is 1,210,027 mile wide and Centaui B is 743,330 miles wide. A and B orbit around each other in a binary pair, and they are 1,041,105,946 miles apart. Alpha Centauri Proxima is a red dwarf star that is 125,329 miles wide and orbits around the binary star pair, Proxima obits 1,161,948,600,000 miles from the binary pair.

4.37 light-years translate to about 9,460,730,472,580.8km or about 276363.607AU. That's about 6.8 million times the size of the Sun itself. Remember, the Sun is over 109 times the Earth's diameter. For your perspective, if the Sun is a ball about half an inch in size, the Alpha Centauri system would be another 54 miles (87km) away!

Clear skies!

The closest distant star isn't alpha centari, but proxima centauri, about 4.22 light year. Alpha centary had 4.39 light year :)

-
The distance is about 4.37 light years from our Sun.
