Will an alien outer space civilization more likely to evolve from a predator

[From: ] [author: ] [Date: 11-04-28] [Hit: ]
Its not likely any civilization monitoring radio waves would have the means to travel to earth. To travel here, they would probably have overcome faster than light travel and intergalactic communication. So any civilization that received a message we sent out is likely closer to us in evolution. Its the civilization that can travel here that should be feared, for they have nothing to gain from us as far a technology,......

One Scientist said that if we are alone or if there are other civilisations out there, both conclusions are very scary. As for as you're Question is concerned, the answer is unknown.

If they have primitive enough equipment to receive a message we send to them, then its probably safe to contact them. Its the civilization that can travel here that should be feared, for they have nothing to gain from us as far a technology, or knowledge. It would be quite energy expensive for them to travel here, so they would have to have a good reason. The only reasons I can think of coming here are the following; Meat, slave labor, or a livable planet with an easy to eliminate species.
We evolved from a predator species? I thought we evolved from monkeys or something.

predators are unlikely to evolve intelligence... once they have started down the path of predation, bigger faster stronger and more efficient are superior survival traits. Deep philosophical insights wont help a cheetah in the middle of chasing down a gazelle.

omnivores are far more likely to develop a hunter gatherer culture, particularly if they are already predisposed to community living.

It's a gamble, contacting an alien society. We don't really have the information to infer what alien societies might be like or what possible system of values would allow an alien society to achieve our technology. It's probably better to be safer than sorry, though, and assume the worst.

duh. Its logic.
