Are there any places you know of where the sky is said to always be really starry at night? Thanks!!

The best place in the world is the Atacama Plateau in South America. Next best in Mauna Kea in Hawaii.

GeoffG gave you some great remote places. Texas, and the Moon were also mentioned. The Moon would be ideal. The mountains of Arizona and California are good places if you get away from population centers and observe on moonless nights. I used to observe from Mount Laguna east of San Diego. In the most of the USA you have cloudy weather plus light pollution to contend with. The Adirondacks of New York would be a good site in the northeast, along with northern Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont.

Clouds, smog, and light pollution will greatly diminish star visibility. That means your best bet is a place which is
1) A desert
2) Far from any city

Any place with a scarcity of cloud cover and minimal ambient light would be ideal for seeing stars.

Deep in the heart of Texas.
How about: sites of major optical observatories.
