Yes, crocodilians have a diaphragm. In fact the baby theropod dinosaur Scipionyx was so well preserved that some scientists can see that it, too, had a diaphragm. Nevertheless, since some scientists believe that birds evolved from a dinosaur, their belief has prevented them from seeing the diaphragm. As someone once said, "Seeing is believing. If I didn't believe it, I wouldn't have seen it." Apparently this saying applies to those scientists who believe that dinosaurs cannot possibly have a diaphragm, because it is simply not possible for an animal with a diaphragm to evolve into an animal that breathes with air sacs, like birds, since the transitional stage would have a life-threatening hernia in the diaphragm.
