Im guessing that if a mantis gets over a foot in length then it can screw you over pretty bad-http://en.wikipedia.......

I have seen some praying mantis that are big!

How big could they get and when they do get really big could they hurt you?

the largest confirmed species, Toxodera denticulata, can grow up to 8 inches

however, there are reports of even larger mantids. one report from China was about a 18 in long praying mantis.
