Hello,
I keep finding these little seed-like "droppings" all over the house, on the floor. Many times they'll be stuck to my feet or shoes, so I assume at least some of them are being tracked in from the outside. I live in northern California, in an urban environment in a small town. Lots of trees outside. They are just about exactly 1/4 inch long. Semi-hard, with a husk-like outer surface, softer inside. I don't know if they're mouse droppings, because I have seen mouse droppings in the garage here and they are the classic black ones you'd find anywhere. These look distinctly different. Any help in identifying them would be greatly appreciated.

Those are clearly seeds. It seems likely that a mouse dropped them there. Maybe since they are stuck to your feet you are accidently carrying them indoors and then they fall off. You seem to be familiar with mouse droppings. When we had a mouse, it was pretty obvious. They seem to leave a lot of droppings

They look like partly digested or undigested seeds.
