How do you know that there is a tornado or hurricane coming

Sometimes a tornado can come after it storms for a while then the weather becomes dead calm a hurricane people can track with radar day to day.

warm temperature and stormy clouds. what kind of tornado? a dry or wet one?
they are frequent around hurricanes and warm but mostly cold fronts.
