Will an un-opened glass bottle of red wine float or sink?
-
Alas, it will sink. Ask any party boat goer who has had the misfortune of knocking a full bottle of vintage Cabernet overboard.
While the densities of water and wine are close, the addition of the bottle and its heavy glass make the full wine bottle heavier than the water it'll displace as it sinks. So the buoyancy B < W the weight of the full wine bottle and there goes the party. Tsk.

My guess is it'll sink, but obviously you'd need to know the density of the wine in question. Since wine's a mixture of water, alcohol, and various sugars and stuff, it'd likely weigh more than the water it displaces.
