An increased amount of phosphorus in aquatic environments creates

[From: ] [author: ] [Date: 12-12-23] [Hit: ]
rainforests have the most productivity because they are moist and warm from sunlight. Deserts and tundra have low productivity because of extreme temperatures and low moisture.Hope this helps! Im in AP bio so this stuff was all on my midterm yesterday.......
a) missing carbon sinks which decreases the rate of photosynthesis
b) acid deposition, damages plants and acidifies lakes
c) algal blooms which tend to use up available oxygen
d) denitrification which stunts plant growth

Nitrogen-deficient plants present a problem for healthy food webs as animals then will lack nitrogen. Nitrogen is important for all animals

a) as it is a major component of bones and teeth
b) by bacteria in their stomach for ammonification
c) as the main energy source for movement and cell processes
d) to build structures made of protein and make genetic molecules (DNA)

Phosphorus and calcium are two elements that differ in their matter cycles from the nitrogen, carbon or sulfur cycles because they
a) are more complex in their mineral ore configuration
b) are not transported in fluid systems
c) do not involve the atmosphere
d) the gas state of their compounds is too dense

Two factors (other than available nutrients) that limit productivity are
a) parasites and fungi
b) moisture and sunlight
c) trace elements and molds
d) disease and herbivores

PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!

-
1st: Answer C, its called eutrophication

2nd: Answer D, proteins are made of amino acids which contain nitrogen.

3rd: Answer C, Phosphorus comes from runoff and rock erosion and is a solid at normal temperatures so it won't be a gas in the atmosphere like N2, O2, or C.

4th: Answer B, rainforests have the most productivity because they are moist and warm from sunlight. Deserts and tundra have low productivity because of extreme temperatures and low moisture.

Hope this helps! Im in AP bio so this stuff was all on my midterm yesterday.
