Is the reason we perceive an 'arrow' of time, in the direction of the Universe's expansion, because information is more dense in earlier regions of time and less so in later regions? And is there no such thing as cause or effect since time is a dimension and the Universe doesn't have a 'set' time?
Physics hasn't found an 'arrow' to time that's fundamental, aside from the 'weak' arrow and the law of entropy.

It is a simple explanation for a complex concept. The arrow... Time and the expansion are not the same thing but I think they are strongly correlated as those two dimensions interact with each other. (I believe.) I like to think that they just act as a basis and a perspective with our interaction within the universe.
Then again I am a 15 year old kid that just read a couple of astronomy books so I can't say much. lol
