The universe started about 13 billion years ago. It expanded at a finite rate. Therefore, it is finite.

Seems OK to me. If the universe was infinite the night sky would be *much* brighter (see Olber's paradox). But, of course, not all the light in the universe has had time to reach us, yet, so...
Some people get quite subtle about the difference between the material Universe (stars, planets, lonely hydrogen atoms) and the space it exists in (which may be infinite but how to tell?).
I'm told the medieval theologians did not, in fact , argue about how many angels could dance on the head of a pin, but I suspect we're close with this sort of discussion. Life's too short.
