So far I think the smallest proven particle is a Neutrino.
It is so small that it can pass through the entire earth without colliding with any of the atoms because atoms are so large in comparison.
Imagine this. If the Sun was the nucleus of an atom and the planets were electrons. The Neutrino is so small that it would be like a rock the size of the house passing through our solar system.
99.99999999999% of the time the house sized rock would just pass through and never touch and planet. It is the same with neutrinos and atoms.
The only way to detect a neutrino is to build a huge tank and fill it full of deuterium (heavy water). This tank must be miles underground and it can take years for a neutrino to be detected.
There are other theories out there but I don't think they are proven ones yet.
An atom is the smallest particle that retains its chemical properties, but atoms, neutrons, electrons, and protons are giants compared to other subatomic particles.

Apparently, it's a quark
-
A photon - regarded as having no mass therefore it could be classed as the smallest.
-
Probably electrons, neutrinos, quarks, in terms of radius. Or, if string theory is correct, strings.
-
the electron is the smallest. it's about 1/1836 the size of a neutron or proton. All are elements of an atom.

I think your question is not so clear, in my view the best thing is your sadness, forget it and try to make yourself happy.

protons and neutrons

an atom
