I have to decide whether to take A.P. chemistry or A.P. Physics. If I want to pursue a career in materials science and engineering which would be more beneficial toward it being easier for me in college

I am doing Materials Science and Engineering currently. I would recommend physics for sure. You do need a strong background in chemistry but not much more (unless you are doing something specific within Mat. Sci/Eng) than inorganic chemistry. The chemistry would be easier to pickup/learn in college in my opinion, having a background/knowledge in physics before entering college would be best.

Both are highly relevant. It would be better to study both but if you have to make a choice I would opt for Chemistry only because I enjoy Chemistry much more and do much better in assessments. In your case pick the one you find easy and enjoy studying.
