Is this correct?Thanks!-to 3 SF,v = 2.c = 300,(25 / 420) ^2 = 1 - (v / 300,......
In order to avoid detection by the Bord, the star ship Enterprise must make itself appear to bve less than 25m long. If the rest length of the Enterprise is 420m, how fast must it be travelling?

My answer is 2.99 x 10^8 m/s. Is this correct?

Thanks!

to 3 SF, you are correct

To 6 SF:

v = 2.99468E8 m/s

-
L'/L = sqr root (1-(v/c)squared)

L' = 25
L = 420
c = 300,000 m/s

(25 / 420) ^2 = 1 - (v / 300,000)^2

solve for v
