http://www.chemicalformula.It is a tri protic acid as it contains three carboxylic acid ( -COOH ) groups ..........
citric acid is triprotic carboxylic acid i need the chemical formula and other thing is i have another formula for citric acid which says here citric acid is a carboxylic acid and formula is C6H8O7 i cant understand what is the differ between citric acid is triprotic carboxylic acid and citric acid is a carboxylic acid and formula is C6H8O7 thanks a million

The chemical formula u hve is right ...it is C6H8O7.....

but the chemical formula for citric acid is best shown by a diagram of its complete structural formula. This shows how the atoms are arranged in the molecule. You cn check tht out here
