Velocity of light in the medium (table)

[From: ] [author: ] [Date: 11-04-22] [Hit: ]
The table is telling you that the speed of light in air is 3.and the speed in ice is 2.Or put another way, light moves slower in denser media. As you say speed and velocity are interchangeable terms in your context So yes,the higher the number in this table the faster the light is moving in that medium.......
So I'm looking at a table and it says: Velocity of light in the medium

It says air has 3.00
And then ice 2.31
and Heavy flint glass 1.82

So the higher the value the faster light goes in it?... right?
Velocity is just speed with a direction

The higher what value? The table is telling you that the speed of light in air is 3.00 * 10 ^ 8 m/s

and the speed in ice is 2.31 * 10 ^ 8 m/s

Or put another way, light moves slower in denser media.

As you say speed and velocity are interchangeable terms in your context So yes,
the higher the number in this table the faster the light is moving in that medium.
